As part of the Taste the Burren Food Trail Series enjoy a walk along the Burren Nature Sanctuary nature trail led by Frisky the Burren goat.
See what wild plants are in season as we attempt to identify the herbs Frisky grazes on, such as wood sage, sorrel, wild thyme and chickweed.
As we stroll through the hazel woodland, around the wildflower meadow and up the boreen, we share stories of recipes and remedies traditionally made from hedgerow herbs. Rest at the colourful shelters along the trail and listen to the birdsong.
At the Botany Bubble get hands on making a wild herb pesto to enjoy with freshly baked savoury scones made with spinach, walnut, hazelnut and served with a seaweed salad garnish and local Burren Gold cheese.
Walk is 1 mile and takes about 1 hour. A lovely event for all ages. Not suitable for buggies (No dogs please)
